Bhaskareswara Temple

Bhaskareswara Temple is a double storeyed structure that dates from 7th century AD. Having a lingam that is nine feet high from the floor level, the temple stands about a quarter mile to west of the Megeswar. The Siva lingam, which is 12 ft and 5 inches in circumference, has characteristically been described in the local sacred texts as Vrihalingam.

Structure of the temple is said to be similar to a mutilated Buddhist stupa, which is believed to be built on a Buddhist monument. To reach the top of the lingam, devotees need to perform ritualistic worship. Built in two tiers, the upper tier can be reached by climbing a flight of steps located against the northern wall of the lower tier.
