Hanuman Vatika is a famed temple garden in the city of Rourkela, Odisha. The garden temple is very beautiful, but the outstanding feature of the place is the statue of Lord Hanuman. The gigantic iconic statue of Hanuman here is about 75 feet high, thus making it the second tallest statue of Hanuman in Orissa band supposedly the highest one in the Asian continent.
The temple has undergone frequent renovations and all of those resulted in great enhancements at the place. It extends over an area of 13 acres, and is known to be the brainchild of Sri Laxman Swami of Hyderabad. Hanuman Vatika complex also houses a 'kalyan mandap' that is used for organising function, events and marriages.
The main Rourkela city is about 6 kilometres from the temple complex, number of devotional programmes are organized here, namely, foundation day programme on 23rd February, Shivaratri and Rathayatra, visitors mostly flock the place to take a glimpse of the highest statue of Lord Hanuman, and it can be reached by local autorickshaws or local buses.
